About / Athletic Systems Atlas

Why We Map Performance

A well-equipped building can still make training harder. We focus on the connections that determine whether a sports centre works through a whole operating day.

01 / Our purpose

Make the brief more useful.

Palszappaperbalcony.lat is an independent information resource for architects, facility operators and sports planners. We explain circulation, air, specialist flooring and adaptable training space through the athlete’s complete journey.

The aim is to help readers ask better questions before a drawing becomes a commitment.

02 / Our boundaries

Principles, not remote certification.

We do not assess your site, calculate system capacities or certify compliance. Examples and diagrams explain relationships; they are not construction details.

Use qualified local advisers for access, fire safety, structural design, building services, acoustics and sport-specific requirements.

How to read the atlas

Begin with a real operating scenario: a group arrives, prepares, trains and leaves while another session begins. Follow that scenario through each guide. A circulation improvement may alter storage access; a new hall division may change air delivery; a floor upgrade may change finished levels. These dependencies are the subject of the atlas.

Our editorial approach

We use practical, evidence-aware explanations and distinguish general design principles from project-specific advice. Standards and governing-body guidance are named so readers can identify appropriate further reading. Their current edition, scope and local applicability must be checked at the time of design.

References to organisations, facilities or standards do not imply their endorsement. We are not affiliated with Sport England, CIBSE, ASHRAE, sporting federations or the example facilities mentioned in the guides.

Sources worth checking

  • Sport England for facility planning and sport-related design guidance.
  • CIBSE for building services publications and professional guidance.
  • ASHRAE for indoor environmental and ventilation standards.
  • Centre for Excellence in Universal Design for inclusive design resources.
  • ISO and national standards bodies for current standard scope and editions.

Corrections and useful questions

If a reference is outdated or an explanation is unclear, tell us which page and passage needs attention. Do not send confidential drawings, medical information or sensitive athlete data. The contact page helps you prepare a concise message; it does not transmit it.
